Senators say tech CEOs have ‘blood’ on their hands, Zuckerberg apologizes: Live updates

The chief executives of five major social media companies are set to appear before senators Wednesday for a highly anticipated hearing on the harms children and teens face online.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, X CEO Linda Yaccarino, TikTok CEO Shou Chew, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel and Discord CEO Jason Citron will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a Wednesday hearing entitled “Big Tech and the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Crisis.”

While the hearing is set to focus on sexual exploitation, tech CEOs are likely to face a wide range of pointed questions from lawmakers in both parties.
