MARSHALL, Mich. — A tornado touched down near Marshall in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
According to 911 emergency management and trained spotters, a tornado was confirmed about 5 miles north-northeast of Marshall.

The tornado was confirmed at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, and the area was under a Tornado Warning at that time.
Kalamazoo County was also under a Tornado Warning for some time overnight.
Officials say survey crews will assess the area today to determine the severity of the tornado, how long it was on the ground, the width of damage, and more.
