Devils recall Justin Dowling, Daniil Misyul following Michael McLeod and Cal Foote’s leaves of absence
The Devils announced Thursday that they have called up forward Justin Dowling and defenseman Daniil Misyul from Utica.
Both Misyul and Dowling have joined the Devils in North Carolina ahead of Thursday’s game against the Hurricanes.
Dowling, 33, has eight goals and 11 assists with Utica this season and has 98 games of experience in the NHL. The last time Dowling played in the NHL was with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2021-22 season. He has six career goals and 12 assists.
This is Misyul’s first call-up to the NHL and the 23-year-old is in the midst of his first season playing in North America. In 30 games with Utica, Misyul has registered three goals and eight assists.
Thursday’s recalls come a day after the team granted leaves of absence for Michael McLeod and Cal Foote. Both players were members of the Canadian World Juniors team in 2018, which has five members facing allegations of sexual assault.
